ABSTRACT: According to the data released by the China Automobile Industry Association, in the first seven months of this year, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China completed 54000 and 496,000 respectively, an increase of 85% and 97.1% over the same period last year.
At the opening ceremony of the 2018 China Automobile Industry Development (TEDA) International Forum, which opened on September 1, Song Qiuling, deputy director of the Department of Economic Construction of the Ministry of Finance, said that over the years of policy support, China's new energy automobile industry has achieved remarkable results. The number of new energy vehicles promoted increased from less than 500 before 2009 to 777,000 in 2017, with an estimated 1.5 million vehicles this year.
According to the data released by the China Association of Automobile Industry, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in the first seven months of this year totaled 54000 and 496,000 respectively, an increase of 85% and 97.1% over the same period last year.
This is different from the expectations given by China Automobile Industry Association earlier this year. In January 2018, the China Automobile Association predicted that "the sales of new energy vehicles will increase by more than 40% to 1 million vehicles in 2018."
Song Qiuling pointed out that from a global perspective, China's new energy vehicle policy system is the most comprehensive, policy coverage is the broadest, support is the largest, the longest duration.
At the same time, Song Qiuling pointed out that the development of China's new energy automobile industry is still in the key stage of sailing against the current, if not advancing, then retreating. "With the expansion of industrial scale and opening to the outside world, some deep-seated problems have begun to emerge, and the whole industry is still in a critical stage of climbing over the hill."
